Hi, I´m Marija Bubanj,
your expert violin tutor with almost 25 years of teaching experience.
My students have won major prizes, competitions, orchestra auditions, and prestigious music colleges. Most of them were selected to perform at a special event organized by Michelle Obama at the White House in November of 2016.
I´m a certified Suzuki teacher since 1999. I was teaching at Columbia College Chicago, I performed in chamber ensembles, orchestra performances, and live broadcasts. Now, I run my own music teaching studio.
My journey began in the heart of Yugoslavia during times of conflict and uncertainty when I found solace in my violin.
Later I moved to Chicago US to pursue a master's in music and embarked on a path to become a professional musician and violin teacher.
Teaching became my mission. My students aren´t just pupils; they are fellow travelers on a journey of self-discovery and expression through music.
With a wide range of repertoire spanning Classical, Jazz, Film Music, Tango, Pop, and Rock, my musical versatility knows no bounds. From Baroque to the Beatles, I can guide you through a captivating musical journey.

FAQ About Our Program
You do need to rent or buy a violin (used or new one) depending on your budget. If you need help, I can offer guidance on affordable violin rental options or recommend starter violins for purchase, and provide information on how to properly care for and maintain the instrument. This program was designed specifically to fit your busy schedule. You will have the flexibility to choose the time of your live one-on-one sessions as well as when to practice and do your homework, however, to ensure the best results at the end of the program, you will need to set aside about 3 hours each week for these activities.
My commitment is to provide you with a structured and supportive learning environment that ensures continuous progress. Therefore I have designed a comprehensive system for tracking with regular assessments, clear goals and milestones, and expert guidance. I believe that celebrating your progress along the way is essential for maintaining motivation and achieving your musical aspirations.
I will make sure you are never left alone. We will be constantly in touch through one-on-one lessons, group lessons, mini-recital, and you will have the access to the Facebook group where you will be able to connect with other students so you will never feel isolated.
Although its challenging sometimes, I trully believe anyone can learn to play the violin. All my students have gotten there, and with the system I created that involves all the best methods for your progress, you will too.
Absolutely not! If you are in your 20s, 30s, 40s or above you can definitely learn to play the volin. Many adults find great joy and fulfillment from playing the violin later in life. However, we do require you to be at least 15 years old for this program.
